Crochet Skull Ornament

This project is creepy and adorable all at the same time.....I love it! The original pattern can be found at
I made mine a little different from the original pattern. The mouth on mine goes halfway around the head, and has about ten vertical stitches for the teeth. Second, I made the eyes out of felt instead of crocheting them. They are really quick and easy, and make a great gift for that friend who appreciates something a tad macabre! I know I would be pleased to receive this as my gift, but then again, maybe that's just me! If you're an experienced crocheter, you can have one finished in no time. Instant gratification for those who aren't into massive afghans and such.

Crochet Donkey!

I made this little donkey for my friend as a Christmas gift. I would have posted the picture sooner, but I was so excited to give it to her, I forgot to take one, so I had to ask her to send it to me! He is made using a free pattern found at http://kandjdolls.blogspot.com/2010/02/blue-donkey-free-amigurumi-crochet.html
which is designed and written by Jaimai and translated to English by Sayjai Thawornsupacharoen. I made changes to the ears for my donkey. This pattern is very charming and I especially love the way the snout joins with the head. Maybe it's just me, but there's something reminiscent of those toys from generations gone by.

Crochet Snowflakes

A Little Out of Season?

Yes, I know it's kinda late to be blogging about my pumpkins, but the fact that I have blogged so much in one hour should tell you how behind I am. So here they are! They were supposed to have jack-o-lantern faces, but I didn't get around to it. I know....I win at finishing craft projects. I never suspected procrastination could get this bad. Well, there you have it, pumpkins in January.

The pattern for these is written by June Gilbank and is available for free at http://www.planetjune.com/blog/free-crochet-patterns/pumpkin/ Thanks to June for generously sharing her beautiful pattern!

Because I am Exciting!

That's right, I make cupcakes for movie night at my house, and last week was Amadeus movie night, so I decided to colour the icing sea foam green, and added some stars for good measure. Aren't they pretty? They tasted as good as they look too! Sadly, my original fancy decorating plans went down the crapper when my icing bag exploded all over my hands. The marvelous decorating effort you see before you was done with an icing spatula whilst I spun the cupcake around in a circle. Because of my disapointment, I have been promised a fabulous new icing set!

Crochet Starfish

Continuing on with my tropical beach theme, I thought it would be nice to have a little starfish to go along with my mermaid. This pattern works up in just a few minutes, so it didn't take me long. I think it could also make a very nice brooch if I come up with a little piece of crochet coral and a tiny jelly fish to go along with it. Stay posted, it just might show up on here.

Amigurumi Mermaid!

So I'm back and posting again after several long months! First of all, happy new year to all! I'd like to kick things off again by saying that my new years resolution is to blog more often. I'll start with this adorable mermaid, which is made from a pattern written by Sayjai Thawornsupacharoen. The pattern is posted on her blog at http://kandjdolls.blogspot.com/2010/11/little-mermaid-free-amigurumi-crochet.html
I'd like to say thank you to this amazing designer for the inspiration she has given me, and of course, for her generosity in sharing this beautiful pattern. Please note that I did make a few changes to this pretty mermaid, including how I created the hair, the bra, and the little water lily hair accessory. I changed the fin colour just for added colour.
